Yesterday we heard about a show entitled "Walking With Dinosaurs". It looked awesome. We called an RSVP'd. It was free and we couldn't turn down a free show and cool as this one looked.
We go to FCCJ at 9:30 this morning to pick up our free shirts. The kids all received a red t-shirt with a T-Rex eye on the front and tour dates on the back. They love them!
After I left FCCJ, we headed over to the Veteran's Memorial Arena. The lady at the door was less than happy that we were showing up there and made a few rude, nasty comments about it being a press conference and that it really wasn't a kid friendly event. She made it clear that she was extremely concerned that the baby would cry inside. She told me to go in and look around to see what I thought. Truthfully, it wasn't much more than plants, dim lighting, and some loud ROARing on the speakers. My kids love this kind of thing!
So finally, we go in and sit. The man who was supposed to be a paleontologist was instead a doctor who just loves dinosaurs. He was a really nice older gentleman who talked with my children before the show as we waited about the dinosaurs on his tie. During his speech, he passed around a dinosaur claw, tooth, and a replica of dinosaur skin from the Florida Museum of Natural History. I think he realized that the event was sent out for homeschoolers and families because there were a bunch of us there.
My children were extremely well behaved and were quiet and listened and just genuinely enjoying themselves. We will be buying tickets when the actual show comes to town - November 26-30. I think I will like it just as much as Raymond.
After leaving Walking With Dinosaurs, we head to the DMV because I was informed my license was suspended last October! Yes, almost a year ago. I have been driving illegally for a YEAR!
Long story short - I must call Orange County, because that's where the ticket is from. Just for the record, I paid and took the class within the time frame - they just didn't update the system. So, I pray I'm driving before the week ends.
Donald is leaving for Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow for work. I'm none too happy about this as he just found out about it today and he has yet to receive a paycheck.......
So, now we are at home and the kids are in the playroom pretending to buy and sell tickets to a dinosaur show. Raymond is being his bossy self telling Ari & Alex where to go and what to do. ---- the sad part? They listen!
Today.
